I want to see the other proposals for the Gasworks site, because the winner is just about bereft of green space, I don't see how the additional retail and the hotel remotely fit in with any plan other than the one to help make Rob Lucas' post parliamentary life even more lucrative. It's a decision that definitely needs reviewing.

In the render, there's still a significant amount of public space. Some of it is paved, and not lawn, but I'm not of the belief that grass is the be all and end all of public space.

Yeah. It's close to the Parklands and is an expensive site to remediate, it simply isn't practical to make it a big open grassed area.

Its not that large. Quite a bit of green space could be incorporated in it if they wanted.
Take a look down the road, Hawker st Brompton.
There was a lot of remediation work with the contaminated sit where the Brompton Green Reserve is, surrounded by housing. Slightly larger site then the gas works too.

The contaminated soil there is buried underneath the housing/green space.

There definitely won't be as much greenery on buildings as shown in the renders, but I'd be surprised if there isn't as much ground level greenery. The already built parts of Bowden have a lot of trees planted.

Who should be contacted to offer an opinion against the Crows proposal? Nick Champion, the new planning minister?

While the Crows proposal does offer a higher percentage of open space, it isn't really useable open space, as many on this forum have alluded to in the past.

That's a tad dramatic. It certainly won't benefit Bowden and the other proposal will be much better for the community, but it's not going to ruin the whole Bowden development.

That's a tad dramatic. It certainly won't benefit Bowden and the other proposal will be much better for the community, but it's not going to ruin the whole Bowden development.

Look, you're right - I am being a little dramatic but I do think a large oval on the western side of the development will be quite detrimental to the great vibe Bowden currently has.
