is that area considered part of the parklands?
Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.

To try to put it in some sort of perspective the World Cup is as big as having 2 grand finals a day for a month

No it isn't. That's why it's such a good plan; and also falls outsdide of ACC district boundaries. No NIMBY opposition, would be located within City of West Torrens Council who are much more approachable.

That last one looks really good shuz. Good one mate. Pity it's not suited to AFL though.

nice locality, but that stadium is twice the size it needs to be.

this is Adelaide FFS, not Yokohama or Tokyo which is about 20 times the size of our town

Even though they tearing it down soon what they have in Madrid could be used around Hindmarsh due to their lack of space. It doesn't have to be quite this big either 53,000 is a little high for Adelaide United but it still would be great

There's a fair bit of talk about extra Adelaide Oval extenions are there any thought on this?

I was thinking just for starters we could knock down the Bradman stand and extend the new members stand around further. But i think we will eventually have to start building on the grassed areas if we are to get close to he 50,000 mark.

I honestly think this is one of the most practical options Adelaide has for an inner city stadium

P.S. what kind of an Adelaide Oval could we get for $900 million?

this is the redevelopment of AMI stadium (Lancaster Park ) in christchurch, NZ.
To me it is how i envisage how AO could be done like, copying the new western stand onto the eastern side would bring the numbers up close to 50k. By redoing expanding the Bradman stand to occupy almost the entire southern end should easily take it past 50k. The Northern end could also be redeveloped in a way to keep the view of the trees, the hill and incorporate the old scoreboard and new video screen and make it look better than it is now.
I reckon it could be done for a hell of alot less than $900 million.

yeah, lets watch another sister city pass us by...

but given its pretty much rugby and nothing else in NZ, it'd be much easier for the sporting authorities to all be pulling in the same direction

whereas in South Australia, sporting politics are about as complex as political factionalism in a large 3rd world nation

TOTALLY!!

Also i was watching the IPL the other night and noticed Sahara Stadium Kingsmead i think that they have got it right as far as it goes with have grassed areas and stadium seating. Which i think AO will ahve to look at considering everyone will kick up a stink if we just started ripping up all the grassed areas
