How many bloody computers do you need?
Well, we'll soon have 5 computers amongst four people in this house. :D

Yeah, the dc is giving me the shits at the moment. It crashed due to excessive load last night... i'm not sure why they're finding it so difficult to get onto this problem. If the problem persists and they can't get on top if it we're moving servers (yet again).

We did a kernel upgrade on the server, seems to have solved our problems. :)

np mate.. i'm not good at explaining things.. but it's the central software that controls all the operations of a computer. Hopefully wiki can provide a better answer than me
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kernel_(computing)

One of those things in linux that you don't change unless it's broke.. as an upgrade can often break other things.

Yeh, for me too. Not a complaint -- just FYI. I need my daily S-A fix!
It's = it is; its = everything else.
You're = you are; your = belongs to.
Than = comparative ("bigger than"); then = next.

The hard drives had failed (twice) over the past week. Should be back to normal now.

Not sure if you're aware of this Howie but from time to time, especially late at night/early hours of the morning, the site is unreachable.
The General SQL error type message comes up.

Has anyone else been experiencing random but frequent problems with accessing the forum over the past few weeks? Sometimes it works fine for me and then all of a sudden threads will take ages (sometimes a couple of minutes) to load, or the whole site is unreachable. Seems to be the same for me whether it’s on my work desktop, home laptop or iPad, or via Tapatalk. The problem seems to come and go at random – the site will be working fine then it will be very slow for 10-15 minutes or so and then work fine again like nothing has happened.

Or is it a problem that only affects me but follows me around devices and networks?
