I presume these couldn't be installed with the crane in place - this only came down a day or two ago.

I wonder why didn't they finish putting the fins on the north side of the building?

Look closely (particularly in the last photo) you can see the cables supporting the gantry that is being used to install the fins hanging off the northern top of the building, they're still working on the tower, still a little ways to go.

From afar this just sort of blends in… but up close does it look as bad as I think it might?

And there I thought this was a deliberate design choice... To be honest, I think I would prefer if they don't add more fins and just keep it as is.

Lots of progress on the fins this week.

I could never say I like this, but I don’t hate that it adds height and interest to the skyline from afar.

I'd crowd fund some fins for the monstrosity on synagogue place. It catches at so many angles.

Poster above me is dead on. Not saying its good, but it adds visual interest

The best thing the designers did with this building was leave the gaps between the fins. It allows sunlight to pass through the gaps and gives the facade much more interest.

Looks like the tower part of this is nearing external completion now - only a few fins missing and windows were being cleaned this morning.

My verdit: It's OK but nothing more. The fins do make it interesting through shadow and texture but they also make me feel a bit uneasy sometimes - looks a bit like a good old-fashioned lynching paddle embedded with razor blades.

At least it's not the Perth one.
