I wonder if Topham Mall will be next on the council’s list of asset renewal projects after they are finished with Market Square and the HJ carpark redevelopment that has been hinted at.
It’s aging fast, sits in a prime location, and is relatively underdeveloped considering its location.
If it ever ...

[PRO] Re: Roseworthy Satellite City 43,300 homes
These developments are needed. I know some people would prefer everyone live in an apartment, but the majority of people don't want that (as evidenced by the fact we aren't seeing the CBD filled with apartment buildings but we are seeing huge developments of detached housing).
The average ...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines
I can tell you now that Adelaide will not have a direct Japanese route for a long while.
And we can make this assumption based off of when the premier went to visit Japan either in 2023 or 2024 I can’t remember and they had a meeting with Japan Airways and Japan Airways refused.
Don’t bet ...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines
I'm just trying to make sense of Qantas relaunching international flights from Adelaide with *this* route as I wouldn't think it as being that competitive, but I'm happy for someone with the knowledge on the topic to come at me on this.
Mate this route is simply to appease the state ...

Those cranes mentioned will be mobile cranes.
Once Delta dig out the carpark to the bottom, there will need to be extensive piling and foundation work.
Tower crane/s would be up later in the year or early next.
Didn’t they do all of that already before they built tower 1? They excavated under ...

And to be fair the ACC are pretty good at keeping the mall pavers clean and chewing gum free. I've never lived anywhere else where indoor floor cleaning machines are routinely used on an outside mall.
They use them in the Melbourne CBD now too. It’s why Melbourne is nowhere near as filthy as it ...

Has anyone heard any word about the Council’s plans to redevelop the neighbouring Hungry Jacks car park site? I remember a couple of years back they were saying it would likely be their next project after the Market Arcade. It would be interesting to see how it will interact with the proposal at the ...

I wouldn't say never.
Something might be heritage listed today, in decades to come the pendulum could swing another direction and what was once considered heritage not so much..
And whose to say the heritage listed building/s aren't left to rot and crumble and be left with no option but to ...

By 169.5m, is that above sea level?
Glad to see SCAP growing a spine and rejecting a student accommodation building on the grounds of lack of communal areas and blank concrete walls, there is absolutely no need to a blank wall given the surrounding buildings are heritage listed and will likely ...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains
Likewise many bus timetables haven't been changed in many years, despite population growth and changing travel patterns. Besides the extra Mt Barker services, the new 206 Northgate service and the 566 Golden Grove - Mawson Lakes service, I don't think there has been an increase in bus service ...

Parking lot? For 4 years? Wtfff
No update on their website either - still listed as "coming soon", which has been the case for over a year. Not sure why the delay and lack of info about when "soon" is.
This strikes me as an overly ambitious project for Adelaide, especially given its ...

Re: News & Discussion: Regional Transport
Rather than investing hundreds of millions of dollars into a regional rail network the government should make regional transport cheaper, more frequent and integrated into the Adelaide Metro system. This means being able to use Metrocards (with a higher charge, but not the crazy costs we have now ...
