[U/C] Re: 269 North Terrace | 118m | 36 Levels | Student accommodation

I agree with the previous comment, instead of being nasty and vitriolic with ones comments, the person before the previous comment might like to take a glass half full approach instead and offer some constructive criticism about what one has to say. Being nasty serves no purpose in these threads......

[U/C] Re: 269 North Terrace | 118m | 36 Levels | Student accommodation

I dont know how everyone here listens to themselves. None of these "developments" on (or near) North Terrace are any good apart from maybe Realm but still, that only gets a 7/10. In fact the only decent building in development right now is 75-79 KW but that's getting dumbed down as I type this. Tim'...

This will be a dedicated quarantine facility for returned travelers who test positive for Covid: https://www.abc.net.au/news/2021-01-01/sa-selects-coronavirus-hotel-facility-as-nsw-hard-border-imposed/13025812 How horrible for our community. Send the outsiders to the desert to fend for themselves.

Unlike Citywatcher's whacky reality, Adelaide is not a utopia and squatters do inhabit empty buildings. If you don't believe me, there are literally squatters in the squatters arms and that isnt even in the CBD. It'd be worse in the CBD. I'd rather this be put on hold and waited out like they did 2...

When you're going Northbound on the Southern Expressway entering Darlington, I always look up and have a long glance at the skyline. This development is very prominent and at the right time of the day, the whole view sparkles quite brilliantly. Either its that or it's the glass in the air from rear ...

I don't know about you but I am sick of all the hate for this development. SURE it looks basic, and YES it may not suit the North Terrace cultural precinct and FINE it looks like the type of building that has a lot of things to hide (negative things) but aside from all of this, A quote comes to mind...

From a distance and certain vantage points , it evens out the CBD skyline "look" quite nicely.
Rounds out nicer than a desperate housewife.

The reality doesn't appear to reflect the renders.
The renders actually look really good.

Question... This is student accommodation right? Where will the students live... In the window seal?

That core is massive.

So sad to see this monstrosity go ahead. Truly hope I’ll be eating my words. It's an appalling design. I'm as supportive of CBD highrise as anyone, but this one definitely should have been rejected by SCAP to save the developer from themselves. Our only hope is that, like other developments, the en...
