Wasn't there a previous proposal for this site? Must've been booted soon after being proposed.
I really hope this goes through. Not a fan of the building currently on site.

No, the other proposal is for the car park behind the (now-closed) Royal Hotel. From memory, it's proposed by one of the big CBD developers (Starfish?) and won't see much action till they conclude other projects.
This proposal is for the site occupied by the old blonde brick Art Deco units that were put to market last year. It looks good too! Although they probably could have been more ambitious, it's size means it should probably come to fruition as quickly as the similar builds just behind on Little King William.

Yep I'm well aware of the proposal for the carpark of the now closed Royal Hotel.
Ahhh ok yes I do remember 82 North Terrace going to the market last year. Probably what confused me.

This development seems to have a website. Looks like the building has a pleasant appearance, will see how fast it can be realised.

This would look good in Bowden, with that red brick on the lower levels.

Recently noticed that this site has disappointingly become a paved car park. It doesn't look temporary so I'm surprised it was allowed, given they demolished the former residential flats for the proposed apartments.

That's extremely disappointing. Kent Town is the perfect inner-city location where apartment buildings like this should be going up.

Wonder what has happened to the developer?
Did they go under or something?
(same thing with curious what's going on near the Clark Rubber just down the road too)

The side of the road including OTR, Mitre 10 and this vacant block should all be used for a well overdue realignment / widening of the intersection which would allow 2 dedicated left turn lanes onto Payneham road, as well as 2 dedicated to Magil road, plus a turning lane to Fullerton Rd.
Whilst in isolation I would be a supporter of this proposal, typical and unfortunate that council and DIT as joint stakeholders would allow such a proposal to go ahead right up against the footpath without any such foresight.
Obviously to the other side of the road inc the Maid & Magpie, as well as the heritage double story shops can’t be touched for such a project.
