ok, so i'm a bit worried. I'd love this to go ahead but surfing all these associated websites turned up
ZERO references
- * Lilly Nominees - don't have a website, nor a south australian listing in the white pages
* Tecvts (tectvs.com.au) - presumably the architects, but no mention of this project on their website
* Connell Wagner (conwag.com.au) - not sure their association on this project (potentially the engineers?). No mention on their website at all
* Katnich Dodd (katnichdodd.com.au) - also supposedly involved, and again nothing on their website
* Connor Holmes (connorholmes.com.au) - zero reference on their website
what's going on???
Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.

Lilly Nominees is a holding company, thus no website. All of the others are consultants and usually only list projects on the website when they are completed (and in some cases, when the buildings are a significant way through construction).

Do we know who is doing the marketing (sourcing of tenants, etc)? There should be some sort of official public face to this proposal...

I don't believe anyone is appointed to market the property but I can guarantee that agents would be putting tenants to the developer for consideration...
The problem is that this building is going to be soooo expensive to rent compared to more simple green glass box buildings. Who is going to want to pre-commit to a whole shitload of space and pay an excessive rent for an excessive building? Answer? Probably no-one unfortunately

I don't understand, I thought we are meant to be in a "mining boom"? So where are all the companies that need office space?? Rann should try (as he has tried with BHP, not sure how much success) and direct some head office's back to SA if they are going to be mining in our state.

We are in the early stages of a mining boom... They are still digging the hole!
We just have to be patient for the next 5-10 years...

BHP has been shifting some of its Adelaide shared services workforce to Melbourne. However the BHP ODX office team is continuing to expand in Adelaide. Just last month they leased another floor in their main Adelaide office building on top of an additional floor leased a few months back. So they are actually increasing their office space demand in Adelaide, slowly.

Check it out - Adelaide's CBD is on the Skyscrapercity website.........
I've never seen it before !!! Thankfully the photo is a night photo which kind of hides the fact that there's no decent buildings in the city.

Maybe a bit of a premature conclusion? Some proposals have gone through several cycles in the property market before being built. Right now it's a bit rough.

Never say never. A lot of the big anticipated projects in Brisbane are now scheduled for the next cycle instead of the current. It's all got to do with the economic climate, property outlook and demand. This one is a substantially sized project by Adelaide's standards, so it'll take some time to follow through. When the real effects of the mining boom kick in - 2010/2011? I would expect it U/C or completed to coincide with that for the tenant base of prospective mining companies or reinvested commercial interests in Adelaide.

Agreed Shuz - the fact of the matter in Bris is as you said, but the mining element here may shift the construction framework back, not so much forwards as in Bris.

It's November and coming towards the end of the year. I don't think we are going to hear anything until at least the first quarter of 2009.
