Well we'll all have someone to blame if a 300m tower gets knocked back.. this time it won't be the council, it'll be CASA.. I joke i joke

Jokes aside.. here is the DPA topology of the changes.
And this could very well have the biggest impact for developers.

From 180 days to
10 Days! Adelaide could be the gold standard for development application systems around the country.

I really do like the fact that design becomes no.1 priority
hopefully however that it doesn't become the city's architects legacy look (i.e only approves what he likes)

This is nothing short of electric!! I understand, with Howie, that unlimited development heights can take place. Makes one very happy

. Very pleased about the KWS spine - will make a great entry from Melbourne.
4 big developments coming up by the end of this week - looking forward to that!
Loooong overdue.

Lol. I'm guessing that skyliner means flying into the city from Melbourne (the aerial view of the CBD from the aeroplane).

As long as the current projects are still going ahead (especially the Currie St hotel)... then bring on the new, significantly bigger developments. So far so good with all this city-changing news!

It will be interesting if the 4 developments are just announcements similar to that of the "Major Project" status that used to get handed around.

Don't get too excited about the other 3 "developments" (yes today's announcement was one of the big developments).. they may or may not happen (think visions). And they may not be developments in the way you're thinking (as in new building proposals.. at least not all of them).

Any chance that existing proposals will be amended for extra height now?

omg the comments on AdelaideNow are annoying me.
Why are there so many people that think we can't build tall because of Earth Quakes??!Have they never heard of Japan or LA? The cities on tectonic plates, not our pissy little fault.
Why do people care if a developer wants to build something that may end up being empty? Why do all the buildings have to be full before building something new? Surely a developer investing $100m in a new building would do market research and the sums before building? Wouldn't a small "glut" of real-estate in the city make it better for businesses and (new) residents.
Why is the Airport such an issue? Other cities seem to handle taller buildings with closer airports. I thought most flights skirt around the CBD also and head more over North Adelaide anyway.
Surely it would not be too hard ( apart from residents complaining ) to make Adelaide CBD a no fly zone?
Edit:
How does the CBD have any impact on flights based on this map? (Ignoring the scrapped "new flight path").

So, are the 'airport limits' 30 storeys, or do AdelaideNow not know what they're on about? (as usual)

AdelaideNow don't know what they're on about. They've just assumed that since Westpac House is the tallest building in the City at 132m tall (and has been since 1988) that it's because of the airport.
Clearly they haven't heard of investigative journalism.
