This one seems to have escaped attention.

Cnr Angas , Frome and Regent St N on the old
Valerie Travis site. A Forme project. Sign says
50 % sold .

Similar to Botanic High , 211 Pirie and 300 East Tce now amended to 9 storeys.

I seem to recall the original proposal for this site involved building within the walls of the old building, looked pretty good from recollection, sad to see they changed their minds.

Site pics as at 17/12. Guessing the asbestos removal explains why they didn't retain the original walls.

Curious as to why the developers here have tried to almost give a nod in the podium to the previous building that was on this site? Why not just keep the original facade, then?

I went past this morning but could not get close because they were steeling up the ground floor level ready to pour concrete in the next couple of days.

Cheaper to rebuild a similar facade than to prop the original and support it during demo and the early stages of construction?
