It just looks so incredibly boring.

1. As someone else said, the articulation/step effect at the top of Adelaidean is truly necessary to give it some sort of break to the blandness; and
2. I'm not so fussed about the student apartment tower (now) being built in front of it because frankly, the entire bottom half from that angle is not so nice
I don't disagree re: Adelaidean and I have a lot of respect for the Samaras attitude of getting on with the job - the building on Wakefield Street being a case in point (and having worked in 400KWS at one point). For me, I guess I am disappointed in Adelaidean for the reality of what it turned out to be. Yes, definitely its status as our new tallest probably built expectations but even on the fairly simple design I guess I expected it to look more elegant or classic or something. I wasn't expecting anything other than blue glass in a fairly basic shape, but somehow it lacks the zing factor in any appreciable way even with the benefit of extreme height (by Adelaide standards).Ho Really wrote: ↑Thu Dec 12, 2019 5:27 pm

Kyren's buildings are all bland but good ole Samaras seems to be the only one with any balls erecting towers. Wait 'til the student accommodation tower is built. It most probably will take the spotlight. As for Realm, that too is nothing special. Simple building with a wavy form thanks to protruding balconies and a few screens to add shapes. Come on, neither are commendable for their design. It is only for their height they are welcomed.
Cheers
